Introducing the Singing for Health Research Project
September 2024
This week sees the launch of the Singing for Health Research Project series of webinars. In my role at York St Johns University and the Singing for Health Network, I am coordinating this project, which is a collaborative enterprise between the Singing for Health Network, the International Centre for Community Music at York St John University (ICCM), and the Royal College of Music. We are looking at the effect of singing for health groups in communities and health and social care settings. If you wish to discuss this project further, please email me at a.daraz@yorksj.ac.uk. I hope to see you during the series of webinars; all information including session details, booking and prices, is available here.
This is an ambitious project and is managed in part with funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC). We will accumulate our findings in an in-person event next Easter at the Royal College of Music in London. We thank the London Arts and Humanities Partnership (LAHP) for funding to support this final event.
